Resident Evil Requiem Just Hit Its Lowest Price Ever on Steam

The biggest discount the game has ever had

Resident Evil Requiem launched back in February at $69.99 and hadn't dropped below $50 until now. As part of Steam's Autumn Sale it's sitting at 30% off, bringing it down to $48.99, which is the lowest price it's ever hit on the platform.

Why it's worth the hype

Requiem alternates between two playable characters, series regular Leon Kennedy and newcomer Grace Ashcroft, each with a different pace and feel, and you can swap between first-person and third-person perspective whenever you like. It leans into dread and exploration rather than nonstop action, and that seems to be exactly what people wanted from it.

The numbers back it up. The game sits at "Overwhelmingly Positive" on Steam, with 97 percent of its roughly 54,000 reviews positive, and it picked up a 9.3 user score on Metacritic, one of the highest user scores any game has ever gotten there. It's also on the shorter side, with most players finishing it in under 15 hours, and some reviewers have noted the back half of the story doesn't land quite as well as the opening stretch.
