What is Mistfall Hunter?
Mistfall Hunter is a third-person action RPG from Bellring Games, published by Skystone Games, that blends Soulslike-inspired melee combat with the risk-and-reward structure of an extraction game. It takes place in a dark fantasy world where a war between gods left every deity dead; their blood became a corrosive mist, the Gyldenmist, that twists the living into mutated, hostile creatures. A mysterious figure named Dew revives fallen warriors as immortal Gylden Hunters, sending them into the mist to recover a substance called Gyldenblod and other loot needed to mend the Web of Fate. Each run follows the same structure: players drop into a mist-covered zone, fight monsters and bosses, complete objectives, and gather gear and resources, while staying alert for rival squads who can ambush them and take everything carried. Reaching an extraction point, often tied to ringing bells, is the only way to keep what was found; dying beforehand loses the run's haul entirely. Between expeditions, players return to a camp hub to store loot and prepare their next loadout. Combat favors positioning, dodge timing, and stamina management over reflex-heavy action, and there is no enemy lock-on. Players choose from several classes, including Mercenary, Sorcerer, Blackarrow, and Shadowstrix, each with distinct weapons, skills, and talent paths that can be freely respecced. The game can be played solo or in co-op squads of up to three, facing AI enemies and rival players. Missions run on a time limit, and some maps add pressure such as an advancing mist wall, forcing squads to weigh pushing deeper against heading for an exit. Mistfall Hunter suits players who enjoy extraction-style tension, melee combat, and squad coordination, and who don't mind a single defeat wiping out a run's rewards. It is less suited to those who prefer steady progression without the threat of loss.
